The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Wanneroo as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Wanneroo defeated 7th ranked Senators in Joondalup 94-85. Wanneroo made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Wanneroo outrebounded Senators 43-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Kayla Steindl (187-89, college: Gonzaga) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Her fellow American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: EMU) helped adding 8 points and 11 rebounds. Wanneroo's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was guard Stacey Barr (173-92, college: Idaho) with 28 points and 6 rebounds and forward Tayla Hepburn (188-97, college: San Diego) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Senators at the other side keep the seventh place with five games lost. Senators will play next round against strong Eagles trying to get back on the winning streak. Wanneroo will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Hawks in Floreat.
