Very expected game in Gawler where bottom-ranked Lions (0-15) were crushed by fifth ranked Rockets (8-7) 96-52 on Saturday. Rockets dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Lions' 30 and made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Lions only scored ten points from the stripe. Rockets forced 22 Lions turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Jessica Good (186-94) who scored 20 points and 5 steals. Samantha Defrancesco chipped in 20 points. Four Rockets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Erin Boyd who recorded 13 points and Rachael Savage added 5 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rockets maintains fifth place in League with 8-7 record. Loser Lions still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Rockets will meet at home league's leader Tigers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lions will play against Mavericks (#8) and hope to get finally their first victory.
