Everything went according to plan in Hamilton Hill where seventh ranked Cougars (8-7) won against 10th ranked Lightning (5-10) 83-66 on Saturday. Cougars made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Cougars outrebounded Lightning 37-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Lightning's players. Taylah Simmons (185, college: Southeastern) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and center Jessie Edwards (192-95, college: Minnesota) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Ashleigh Isenbarger (187-97) responded with 17 points and Savannah Coleman scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Lightning keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
