We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Floreat where 8th ranked Magic (7-9) was crushed by ninth ranked Hawks (8-9) 80-52 on Tuesday. Hawks forced 31 Magic turnovers. Point guard Millicent McCarthy (165-2) scored 29 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Megan McKay (190-97, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 20 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and guard Casey Mihovilovich (173-82) scored 6 points, 8 assists and 7 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Magic dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Hawks will meet at home Senators (#8) in the next round. Magic will play against Lightning and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
