Nelbourne outgunned Adelaide to open win count in the semifinal series. Boomers forced 20 Adelaide Lightning turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lindsay Allen (173-1995, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international forward Tess Madgen (183-1990) contributed with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Boomers players scored in double figures. The former international forward Stephanie Talbot (188-1994) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Alanna Smith (193-1996, college: Stanford) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
