Regular Season Round 7: Norths Bears - Maitland M. 98-63

Rather expected game in Crows Nest where 7th ranked Mustangs (1-3) were rolled over by leader North Bears (2-0) 98-63 on Saturday. North Bears dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Mustangs' 32. North Bears forced 30 Mustangs turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for guard Riley Evans (178, college: Seattle Pacific) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points. Guard Madeleine O'Hehir (179-1997) helped adding 12 points and 10 assists. Five North Bears players scored in double figures. North Bears' coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side swingman Mikaela Dombkins (181-1986) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and Hannah Griffin scored 14 points. North Bears moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Mustangs dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. North Bears will meet at home Crusaders (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Mustangs will play against Nationals and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
