Regular Season Round 7: Waverley F. - Bendigo LB 70-65

There was an upset in Mount Waverley where much higher ranked Lady Braves (1-1) were defeated by leader Falcons (1-0) 70-65 on Sunday. It was a great evening for power forward Carley Ernst (196-1994) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Falcons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side the former international guard Kelly Wilson (170-1984) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and forward Megan McKay (190-1997, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Falcons left bottom position moving up to ninth place in League. Loser Lady Braves dropped to the tenth position with one game lost. Falcons will meet Knox Raiders (#22) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Lady Braves will have a break next round.
