Regular Season Round 9: Melbourne T. - Eltham W. 41-80

Wildcats' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after two consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Melbourne, where they outplayed Tigers (0-2) 80-41 on Sunday. Wildcats held Tigers to an opponent 23.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 40.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Tigers' players. American forward Korinne Campbell (184-1988, college: WVU) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and her fellow American import swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) accounted for 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Wildcats players scored in double figures. Forward Tess Heal (178-2004) came up with 10 points and 6 rebounds and Tylah Hooper added 14 points respectively for Tigers in the defeat. Tigers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Wildcats (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixteenth place in League. Loser Tigers still closes the standings with two games lost. Wildcats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigers will play against Sabres (#9) in Cheltenham and hope to get finally their first victory.
