There was a small surprise in Mount Waverley where twelfth ranked Ballarat Rush (5-3) beat 9th ranked Falcons (4-3) 77-63 on Sunday. The former international forward Zitina Aokuso (194-1998) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international swingman Jade Melbourne (176-2002, college: Arizona St.) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ballarat Rush players scored in double figures. Irish guard Orla O'Reilly (182-1990, college: Binghamton) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Ballarat Rush moved-up to eighth place in League. Loser Falcons dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Ballarat Rush will meet Thunder (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Falcons will have a break next round.
