No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Capitals (6-2) beat 8th ranked Rollers (4-5) in Brisbane 71-66 on Saturday. Capitals made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. New Zealand forward Anna Cameron (178, college: Nevada) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Abby Cubillo (168-1999) supported her with 19 points and 4 assists (made all of her eleven free throws !!!). Four Capitals players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists by the former international guard Lauren Mansfield (170-1989, college: Iowa St.) did not help to save the game for Rollers. Sarah Ambrose added 8 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Rollers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Capitals moved-up to third place, which they share with Cockburn C. and W.Adelaide B. Rollers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Rockhampton. Capitals' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brisbane Brisbane Spartans.
