There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Falcons (6-4) beat higher ranked Spectres (7-4) in East Burwood 84-70 on Saturday. Falcons made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Spectres turnovers and outrebounded them 43-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. Falcons looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Carley Ernst (196-1994) accounted for 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Four Falcons players scored in double figures. American forward Megan Mullings (185-1992, college: Alaska-Anch.) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and the former international swingman Alice Kunek (187-1991, agency: LBM Management) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for Spectres in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcons maintains tenth place in League with 6-4 record. Loser Spectres keep the sixth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
