Leading Mount Gambier Pioneers (9-2) recorded its second loss in Mt Gambier. Hosts were defeated by sixteenth ranked Lady Cobras (5-7) 70-56. Lady Cobras brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Lauren Scherf (196-1996, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Carly Turner (183-1995, college: St.Mary's, CA) helped adding 12 points and 4 steals. Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and guard Hannah Young (178-1993, college: Kent St.) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Lady Cobras moved-up to fourteenth place in League. Mount Gambier Pioneers at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
