Everything went according to plan when third ranked Hawks (11-3) outplayed 10th ranked Falcons (7-5) in Heathmont 85-55 on Friday. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Falcons' 34. Hawks forced 19 Falcons turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hawks made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for guard Marena Whittle (180-1994, college: NDSU, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 7 rebounds. Latvian forward Digna Strautmane (188-1998, college: Georgia Tech) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Guard Rebecca Cole (178-1992) came up with 11 points and 4 assists and point guard Amelia Todhunter (169-1988) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Falcons in the defeat. Falcons' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Hawks moved-up to second place in League. Loser Falcons keep the tenth position with five games lost.
