Regular Season Round 30: Townsville F. - NGC Seahawks 97-63

Very expected game in Townsville where 8th ranked Seahawks (8-6) were rolled over by second ranked Flames (11-3) 97-63 on Friday. Flames dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Seahawks' 34. Flames forced 24 Seahawks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The former international forward Alanna Smith (193-1996, college: Stanford) had a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 17-of-22 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) chipped in 11 points and 15 assists during the contest. Four Flames players scored in double figures. Flames' coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Doniyah Cliney (182-1996, college: S.Carolina) with 17 points and 4 assists and Katelyn Donovan scored 14 points. Despite that victory Flames went down to third position (League) due to points difference. Loser Seahawks dropped to the tenth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
