Very expected game in Greensborough where 21th ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (1-14) were rolled over by second ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (12-2) 99-74 on Saturday. Mount Gambier Pioneers outrebounded Diamond Valley Eagles 35-23 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American forward Haliegh Reinoehl (188-1998, college: Akron) scored 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) chipped in 25 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was power forward Sophie Burrows (184-2004) with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kate Oliver (193-1991, college: USC) scored 12 points. Four Diamond Valley Eagles players scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains second position in League with 12-2 record behind leader Bendigo LB.
