Regular Season Round 11: Saints - Nuggets 100-88

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Saints (5-8) won against 7th ranked Nuggets (7-7) in Wellington 100-88 on Sunday. Saints looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Australian forward Xavier Cooks (203-1995, college: Winthrop) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. American forward Reggie Upshaw Jr. (203-1995, college: MTSU) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Five Saints players scored in double figures. American guard Tray Boyd III (193-1998, college: ETSU) came up with 27 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import guard Keith Williams (196-1998, college: WKU) added 27 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Nuggets in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Jets. Nuggets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Rams. Saints will meet at home higher ranked Hawks (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nuggets will play against Jets and hope to secure a win.
