Very expected game when 8th ranked Sharks (2-19) lost to second ranked Boomers (16-4) in Bulleen 74-86 on Saturday. The winners were led by forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-1993) who scored that evening 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-1988, college: St.Mary's, CA) supported her with 19 points. Four Boomers players scored in double figures. Even 13 points and 6 rebounds by Eryn Rosowski did not help to save the game for Sharks. Myra Wood added 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boomers maintains second position in League with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Sharks keep the eighth place with 19 games lost. Boomers will meet at home Cougars (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sharks will have a break next round.
