Regular Season Round 36: Gold Coast R. - Logan T. 61-80
Date: July 30, 2022
Very predictable result when top-ranked Thunder (17-0) rolled over 10th ranked Rollers (6-10) in Gold Coast 80-61 on Saturday. Thunder outrebounded Rollers 51-32 including a 38-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by forward Mikaela Ruef (191-1990, college: Stanford) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 27 rebounds and 6 assists and New Zealand forward Ashley Taia (182-1994, college: Indiana St.) supported her with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Angela Beadle (190-1993, college: SHSU) did not help to save the game for Rollers. Sarah Heard added 12 points. Thunder maintains first position in League with 17-0 record. Loser Rollers dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
