Regular Season Round 3: Airs - Nuggets 79-97

Very expected game in New Plymouth where Airs (1-3) were defeated by Nuggets (3-0) 97-79 on Saturday. Nuggets outrebounded Airs 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Todd Withers (202-1996, college: Queens, NC) who scored 31 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Samuel Timmins (211-1997, college: Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Armon Fletcher (196-1995, college: SIU) who recorded 20 points and forward Scott Telfer (196-1998) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Nuggets and five Airs players scored in double figures. Airs' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Nuggets will meet at home Giants (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Airs will play against Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
