Very important is a home loss of second ranked Rams (6-2) against fourth ranked Huskies (6-3) on Saturday night. Host Rams were defeated by Huskies in Christchurch 84-72. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Rams. Huskies forced 19 Rams turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Robert Loe (211-1991, college: St.Louis) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Australian guard Jarrad Weeks (183-1989) contributed with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Huskies players scored in double figures. American guard Tevin Brown (196-1998, college: Murray St.) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and international guard Walter Brown (190-2003) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Rams. Huskies have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Rams at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. Huskies will play against Jets (#6) in Palmerston North in the next round. Rams will play on the road against Saints (#7) in Wellington and hope to get back on the winning track.
