An exciting game was played in . Hoiho faced Kahu. Host Hoiho defeated guests from 82-76. Hoiho forced 28 Kahu turnovers. Kahu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ashten Prechtel (196-2001, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Zoe Richards (182-1997) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Hoiho's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Tahlia Tupaea (175-1997) answered with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Tera Reed (183-1998, college: USC) added 27 points and 4 assists in the effort for Kahu. Hoiho's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in to the arena .
