Regular Season Round 5: Tokomanawa Q. - N. Kahu 92-88

Date: August 12, 2023
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when third ranked Queens (4-3) beat at home second-ranked Kahu (4-3) 92-88 on Saturday. Queens had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Chrislyn Carr (165, college: Louisville) nailed 32 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Stephanie Watts (180-1997, college: UNC) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Queens' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international guard Krystal Leger-Walker (175-1997, college: WSU) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists and the former international guard Tera Reed (183-1998, college: USC) added 24 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Kahu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with N. Kahu. Queens will meet at home bottom-ranked Pouakai (#5) in the next round. Kahu will play against Pouakai and hope to secure a win.
