There was a great turn-out for the under 20 men's and women's basketball trials .
Great skills and talent were shown during their respective matches against the national squad teams which also needed the run before their tour to New Zealand next month.
The men's squad's diversity of talent demonstrated potential for the development of basketball for a relatively young team.
Although out-played by their opponents, the very young women's team held their own and played a tight defence with spurts of flare in the shooting area.
The following players have been selected for the under 20 teams and are asked to attend training next week Wednesday.

Men: Tupa Tupa, Cecil Heather, Taratoa Metuariki, Peter Teiti, Tingika Elikana, Allan Gibson, Pecan Ikimotu, Shane Ikimotu, Ngatokorua Solomon, Steven Nookura, Mac Tongia, Maurice Marsters, Clifford Atuatika, Marcus Browne and Eddie Parker.

Women: Mata Tangata, Anielle Francois, Teumere Koteka, Swedeleia Taivairanga, Shanielle Taivairanga, Beatrice Arioka, Maxine Arioka, Ophelia Veiao, Monica Teulilo, Doreen Kakino, Raina Bates and Tumai Tumutoa.

Meanwhile the  Edgewater pre-season basketball  tournament will start next month. There will be 18 minute running clock games to be played twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays during March.
