Tahiti have won gold at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara. They overcame Cook Islands 53-46 to clinch the trophy. Cook Islands looked better in the first half and led 5 points at the halftime. Both teams nailed 10 points each in the third quarter, whilst Tahiti erupted with an 18-6 surge in the last stanza.
Mathilde Bayle (1994) top-scored for the winners with 12 points and Mahinetea Tavanae (176-G-2003) notched 8. Ajiah Pepe (171-G-1998) replied with 16 in a loss, Te Araroa netted 11 and Elianna Tuaiti (2000) scored 10.
