Fiji opened win count at home championship. They beat Tahiti for 1-1 record in Group A. Collin Dhani (98) scored 21 points to lead the winners. Fiji piled up a 39:23 halftime lead. They protected the advantage throughout the second half and rallied to the win. Isimeli Koroi (98) had 10 points and 8 boards for the hosts.
