Group ATahiti - Fiji 29-56Fiji thumped Tahiti to improve at 1-1 record. Losalini Katia (98) came up wiht 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the hosts. Fiji accumulated a 29:16 halftime lead. The hosts limited Tahiti to just 13 points in the second half and marched to the victory. Mafi Foiakau (01) delivered 16 points for the winners. Heiura Vaiho (98) responded with 12 points for Tahiti. Samoa - Australia 20-134 Australia earned the second straight victory at the tournament. They cruised past Samoa in Group A. Seven players scored in double digits for the winners. Jazmin Shelley (174-G/F-00) accounted for 24 points in the win. Australia opened a comfortable 66:9 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Zitina Aokuso (98) had 22 points for the winners. Latorya Ropati (00) and Frances Ropati responded with 6 points each for Samoa. Group BNew Zealand - New Caledonia 126-15New Zealand stormed past New Caledonia for the second straight win in Suva. Six players scored in double digits for the Kiwis. Zara Jillings (175-G-98) stepped up with 19 points in the win. New Zealand piled up a 57:6 halftime lead and breezed to the victory in the second half. Jayden Fuiava (99) had 18 points in the win. Anais Tuufui (164-G-98) replied with 4 points for New Caledonia. Papua New Guinea - Guam 56-57 Guam nipped Papua New Guinea to celebrate the first victory in Group B. Shania Bulala (99) accounted for 24 points to lead the charge. Papua New Guinea built a 32:20 halftime lead. But Guam managed to bounce back. They went on a 37:24 run in the second half and snatched the victory. Elysia Perez (00) had 9 points in the win. Svetlana Arthur (98) responded with 13 points and 15 rebounds for Papua New Guinea. |
