Three countries withdraw from Oceania Championship

The number of teams that are going to participate in the Oceania championship this year decreased lately. Three federations refused to participate in the tournament namely Fiji, Tahiti and Palau. They claimed financial situation in the countries as the main reason for the decision. Thus five states will be presented by their National teams (both men and women) in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The competition is scheduled to start on June 21. New Caledonia will face Australia, while Northern Mariana Islands will play against Guam in the opening day in the womens section.
New Zealand vs. New Caledonia and Northern Mariana Islands vs. Austrlia will make up the schedule for the opening day in mens part of the tourney.
