2009 Oceania Tournament

The Oceania Tournament will be held in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, from Saturday 20th June to Sunday 28th June 2009.

The 8 federations selected to participate in this tournament are:
Australia - men & women
New Caledonia - men & women
New Zealand - men & women
Fiji - men & women
Palau - men & women
Tahiti - men & women
Guam - men & women
Northern Marianas - men & women

The Oceania Tournament is played every 4 years, unless the Mini Pacific Games also host a basketball competition. In 2005 the Mini Games in Palau hosted basketball, so there was no Oceania tournament.

The Oceania Tournament is the only opportunity Pacific Island basketball federations have to play against the strong Australian and New Zealand teams, and all federations are looking forward to this 8 year wait.
