Two Pacific Islanders are making an impact on boys basketball in Utah, they both play on the same high school team, Brighton HS.  Brayden Bell at 6'10" is one of the top centres in Utah and ranked among the top 100 HS seniors nationwide.  Has already played in the USA development festival as a junior. He has a solid body and is able to play down low but also shot the three pointer.  He has became the team focal point in offence leading his team in scoring with 19.8 ppg. Will be a nice addition for the Ohio State team next season . Although Brighton HS has been struggling to make it into the playoffs, another Pacific Islander Jace Tavita is a pleasant surprise as a freshman. The 6'4" guard is making a significant contribution and earning the respect of his team-mates.  Jace is third in scoring with 8.2 ppg. Expect Tavita to take over the team next year, as Bell and Taylor Gleave graduate.  Ranked in the top 100 freshman nationwide he is already receiving strong consideration from top colleges across the US. Utah has been able to produce quality pacific island basketball players such as Mekeli Wesley, Will Taukiuvea, Alofa Toiavao and others.
