Teams announced for the Mini SP Games

The Mini South Pacific Games are expected to take place in Palau in July and basketball is among the selected sports. Most of the South Pacific Islands will participate with 11 men and women’s teams.  The most noticeable omissions are Tahiti, Vanuatu, Tonga and Northern Mariana Islands.  American Samoa is fielding only a women’s team while Marshall Islands will only field a men’s team in Palau.  The Mini South Pacific Games basketball tournament is set to replace the Oceania Basketball Tournament however the likes of Australia and New Zealand will no be allow to compete in this tournament.
