7th-8th place match

FS Micronesia defeated Marshall Islands 89-69

FSM got their first victory in the tournament beating the Marshall Islands easily to claim 7th spot in the South Pacific Mini Games.  The Marshall Islands were unable to score easily in the first quarter and the Micronesians capitalised on that taking sizable lead in each quarter.  Marshall Islands outscored FSm in the thris quarter but were unable to continue that in the fourth.  For the winners, Tomasi Mawi had 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.  Kelvin Sam had 16 points, Daystone Roby had 14 points and 9 rebounds while Keitani Graham had 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists.  For the Mashall Islands who leave the tournament without a single victory to their name, Wayne Anjam had 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists while Mark Stege had 11 points and 8 rebounds.

 

5th-6th place match

Palau defeated Solomon Islands 74-58

The host nation took fifth place in the tournament as they defeated the Solomon Islands.  Palau stepped it up in the first half and created enough of a difference to ensure them the victory.  For Palau Boaz Etpison had 17 points and 5 rebounds; Sunshine Soailablai had 13 poitns and 3 assists.  For the Solomon Islands Samuel Gwali had 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 steals, while Goldie Kari had 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
