Netball and basketball go in hand-in-hand in Fiji

Mere Rabuka is one of the leading players of Fiji Netball National team. But it would never be an obstacle for her to participate in the qualifying tournament for the Beijing Olympic Games. The Fiji Basketball Nation Team head coach Michael Whippy is weighing the opportunity of including Mere Rabuka to the squad. She led Fiji to the Netball World championship held in New Zealand last year. If Rabuka joins the National Basketball team she will play alongside three other netball inductees. Matila Waqanidrola, Lusia Robanakadavu and Matelita Shaw have already agreed to take part in the Olympics qualifying tournament. Michael Whippy is hopeful about is hopeful about Mere Rabuka joining the team during the next week's training camp. Fiji will clash with Brazil and Spain at the qualifying stage to the Olympic Games. The winners of their pool will automatically qualify for the Beijing Games. Fiji will take on Spain on June 9.
