Michael Whippy names the squad for Olympic qualifiers

Fiji National team head coach Michael Whippy selected 12 players that would represent Fiji in the upcoming Olympic Games qualifying tournament to be held in Madrid, Spain. Fiji got into one preliminary group together with Brazil and Spain. The tournament is scheduled for June 9-15. The squad includes 5 overseas players. They are Valerie Nainima (165-G-86) of VC Long Island University, Aggie Tuilevuka from BUY, Hawaii, Mikaelar Whippy (173-G-86) of Captain Long Island University, Letava Whippy from Church College and Bulou Tuisue of Mana College. Michael Whippy also invited two netball stars Lusi Robanakadavu and Matila Waqanidrola to his team. He stressed their experience and ability to play well under the rims that would be helpful for the team in Spain. Michael Whippy named Mikaelar Whippy as the captain of the team. Valerie Nainima will assist in the role. Alongside 12-person roster Whippy set the list of 7 reserves that should substitute the main players if they get injured. The reserves are Brittany Hazelman, Cecelia Oliver, Natasha Ratuva, Judy Simpson, Aggie Sokosoko, Hannah Tuikoro and Gavidi Draunidalo.

Fiji tips off the competition on June 9 against Spain. Next day they take on Brazil.
