Fiji's quarter final matchup saw them up against host nation India. Boasting an undefeated record, didn't Fiji from taking it right to India early. The first quarter was tightly contested but India eventually began to push out the lead. The shining light for Fiji was once again Miliakere Koyamainavure (175-F-93), she has put on some great performances during this event. Ending the game with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists, Koyamainavure led by example. Tiyana Kainamoli (159-PG-98) also added 9 points and 3 steals. Unfortunately, Fiji would fall, 93-51, to the home team in front of an entertained crowd. India's speed, size and outside shooting proved to be too much for team Fiji. As a result, Fiji will now face Sri Lanka on Friday 27th of July at 9:00 pm. Sri Lanka is yet to secure a win in this year's event. This game could be a good chance for Fiji to channel the improvements they had made throughout the week to notch their first win. Fiji's game against Sri Lanka will determine their placing for the final day of competition. If they can defeat Sri Lanka then they will play off for 5-6 spot in Division B of Asia. Fiji could make history if they are able to make the top five in their first ever FIBA Asia Cup. Tune into the live stats and live blog to support team Fiji.
