Fiji - Papua New Guinea 71-38

Fiji have won the Melanesia Cup 2022 in Suva. They overcame Papua New Guinea 71-38 in the Fibal game of the competition as both teams will now prepare for the 2023 Pacific Games.
The Fijian side lead 21-10 in the first quarter and left PNG trailing 18-8 in the second quarter. Papua New Guinea replied with a 13-12 rally in the third quarter, however could not catch up with the opponents. Fiji closed the game with a final 20-7 surge to clinch the trophy.
Letava Whippy (175-G-1991, college: LIU Brooklyn) top-scored for the winners with 19 points and Miliakere Koyamainavure (175-F-1993) produced 14. Normalisa Dobunaba (166-SF-1998) ended up with 14 points in the losing effort.
