East Asian Games: China edge Guam for second win

China clinched the second straight victory at the East Asian Games. The hosts overcame Guam for 2-0 record. Li Meng (185-F-95) stepped up with 18 points to pace the winners.
China set the tone early in the encounter. They held Guam to 3 points in the first period and opened a 19-point lead. China extended the lead in the second quarter. They erupted for 29 points and recorded a 51:8 halftime advantage. Things did not change after the big break. China stayed in control. They fired 57 points in the next two periods and celebrated a comfortable victory at the end. Yu Dong (195-C-93) chipped in 16 points, while Shao Ting (183-F-89) had 15 points in the victory. Derin Santos answered with 6 points for Guam. Kathryn Castro netted 7 points in the loss.
