GCC romps over UOG in women's hoops

The Guam Community College Women's Basketball Team romped over the University of Guam Recreation Department Trident Women's Basketball Club 62-26 in the Trident Women's Basketball League Thursday at the UOG Calvo Field House. The game was close in the first quarter, with GCC up 13-7 after the first 10 minutes, according to a news release. In the second quarter, GCC scored 22 points while the Tridents could only muster 5 points and GCC took a 35-12 lead at halftime, then cruised in the second half on the way to a 62-26 win. J. Gustilo and E. Takasy scored 12 points each for GCC, while C. Pardillo and S. Amor each added 10, the news release stated. Justine Yeban lead UOG with 10 points and 13. GCC improved to 1-1 on the season and next face the Royal Basketball Club at 2 p.m. Feb. 3, the news release stated. The Trident Women's Basketball Club fell to 0-3 on the season and next play the Royal Basketball Club at 8 p.m. Feb. 5.
In the other game of the night, Fuetsa Basketball Club defeated the Royal Basketball Club 54-50, the news release stated. Fuetsa improved to 3-0 while the Royals dropped to 1-1.
