Guam - Chinese Taipei 77:72

Guam beat Chinese Taipei in the opener of the 2021 Fiba Asia Cup qualifiers for both teams. They posted a 77-72 win to near Fiba Asia Cup spot.
Chinese Taipei dominated the first quarter with a 25-16 run and led 7 points at the halftime. Guam however took control of the game in the second half and secured the victory. Playing without Jericho Cruz (182-G-90) and Curtis Washington (208-F-91, college: Georgia St., agency: Haylett Sports), it was Takumi Simon (188-F-00), who stepped up to the plate as the Guamanians inched closer to clinching its first-ever stint in the continental showpiece. He nailed 18 points, while Tai Wesley (201-F-86, college: Utah St.) top-scored with 23. Ying-Chun Chen (182-PG-93, college: Liberty) replied with 24 points in a loss, whilst Ting-Chien Lin poured in 22.
