Pacific Games 2023: Fiji achieve second consecutive win

Fiji achieved second consecutive win at the Pacific Games 2023. They overcame Guam 55-40 for a 2-0 record in group A. Fiji opened the game with a 14-10 run and led 4 points at the halftime. Guam replied with a narrow 19-18 rally in the third quarter, whilst Fiji dominated the last stanza with a massive 14-2 surge.
Letava Kenny (178-F-1991) stepped up with 19 points and Kayla Mendez (169-G-1986) netted 12. Destiny Castro (168-G-1997, college: Chaminade) answered with 18 points in the losing effort, whilst Brianna Benito (168-SF-1993) and Joylyn Pangilinan (163-SG-1998) had 7 each.
