The Marshall Islands will play in the upcoming South Pacific Mini-Games, this would be their first major Oceania tournament since 1999. The federation submitted only 9 names to the Mini-Games comitee, they should add three more players to this team coached by Witon Barry. Unfortunatly, the Marshall Islands will not send a women team to Palau.

The 9-men list submitted is featuring only two major NT members with Wayne Anjain and Mark Stege. We hope that Damien Capelle, Jonathan Nathan, Gabriel Lait, who was voted in the Micronesian Games All-Tournament squad in 2004, and Robert Pinho would be able to join this team. Without them, it will be very hard for the marshalleses to compete. In 2004, the Marshall Islands claimed the Silver medal in the Micronesian Games losing only to Guam in the final game 69-90. Unfortunatly another medal in the Mini-Games seems out of reach for this team.
