SPMG Day6: The Marshall Islands will play for the 7th place

The Marshall Islands fall to Guam 46-83 in the South Pacific Mini-Games basketball tournament quarterfinals. They will face the other winless team in this tournament, Micronesia, for the 7th spot on Monday.

 

Men: Guam - Marshall Islands: 83-46
Guam made a great first half, reaching the break on a 52-26 mark and shooting 50.0% from the field (4/8 from 3pts range), the Marshalleses were unable to come back in the game. Rodney Langrus top-scored 14pts 5/9FG in 23min, Faiga Tagoililagi added 9pts 3/5FG in 17min and center Mark Stege (C) recorded 4pts 2/5FG 11rbs in 21min. Wayne Anjain (F) scored only 3pts 1/7FG 6rbs in 24min.

Fiji - Solomon Islands: 71-47
New Caledonia - Micronesia: 72-48
Palau - Papua New Guinea: 80-89

 

On Monday, the men will play against the Federated States of Micronesia for the 7th place in the tournament.
