Manawatu Jets (NBL) landed 23-year old American 198cm swingman Kahlil Whitney (college: Kentucky, agency: Players Group). Whitney moved there from BC Adria Oil Skrljevo in Croatian Premijer Liga. In 12 games he averaged 8.1ppg and 2.8rpg. He also spent pre-season at the Bulls in NBA. The other team he played shortly was Bulls in U.S. NBA-G-League, but in three games he had just 0.7ppg.
Whitney is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Canada (Newfoundland), Mexico (Freseras), Dominican Republic (Indios), NBA G League (RGV Vipers and Greensboro Swarm) and NBA Summer League (GS Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and GS Warriors).
Among many awards his team won NBA G League championship in 2022. Whitney received All-USA New Jersey Boys Player of the Year award and was voted to MaxPreps All-Americans Honorable Mention back in 2019.
He attended University of Kentucky until 2020 and it is his fourth season in pro basketball.
