New Caledonia men win GOLD- September 11, 2011The New Caledonian men had the support of a 'full house' at Paita stadium tonight when they defeated Guam 50 points to 43 in the gold medal game. New Caledonia were ahead at every break, but were never in command of the game due to the ferocious play of the Guam team. For New CaledoniaJean-Christian Arnaud lead all scorers, while Benoit Weber was sensation on the boards, pulling in 11 rebounds. For GuamWilliam Stinnett put in 20 points. A great atmosphere, a great win for the New Caledonian team, and a great way to finish off what has been a superb Pacific Games competition. |
