2012 Pacific Youth Championships: Tahiti edge New Caledonia to finish at 2-1 record in Pool A

Tahiti registered the second win at the 2012 Youth Pacific Championships. They fired past New Caledonia to enter quarterfinals from the second position in Pool A. Tahiti will now take on Guam, while New Caledonia will face Fiji in the playoffs.
Tahiti jumped to an 11-point lead after the starting quarter. The teams traded baskets throughout the second frame as Tahiti ensured a 33:22 halftime lead. Tahiti limited their opponents to just 7 points in the third term to open an 18-point advantage. New Caledonia was not able to recover in the final stanza and had to surrender at the end. Oceane Lefranc provided 16 points and 19 rebounds for Tahiti. Metua Hausia added 13 points in the win. Alissonne Laukau answered with 16 points and 15 rebounds for New Caledonia. Zorena Adjouhgniope netted 7 points in the loss.
