2012 Pacific Youth Championships: Tahiti roll past New Caledonia

Tahiti clinched the fifth overall position at the Pacific Youth Championships in Victoria. They held off New Caledonia in the final game at the tournament. Metua Hausia accounted for 23 points to pace the winners.
Tahiti led by just a single point 15:14 after ten minutes. They stretched the gap at 7-point mark at the interval 30:23. Tahiti held New Caledonia to just 6 points in the third quarter to take a 10-point lead. New Caledonia managed just 11 points in the fourth frame and had to surrender at the end. Oceane Lefranc had 12 points and 18 rebounds for the winning side. Tamara Vaiho netted 6 points for Tahiti. Allissonne Laukau responded with 20 points and 19 rebounds for New Caledonia. Audrey Guillou chipped in 9 points in the loss.
