New Caledonia made a tour in Hawaii to play against the best university teams of the islands. Against taller and better prepared opponents, New Caledonia recorded two losses but this experience will be usefull ahead the 2007 South-Pacific Games.
The team was made of long-time veterans like Fabrice Chaliot (198-F/C-76), Lorenzo Subiranas (F), Gerard Girier-Dufournier (184-G-79) or Benoit Weber (195-F). But the team also features newcomers like Julien Chapitreau and three members of the U20 team that won the Bronze medal in the Oceania Youth in Auckland: Tony Kolokimoana (197-C), Stephane Saminadin (175-G-86) and Jean-Jacques Taufana (185-F-86). This team featured the best players available in the country expect the Kilikili brothers who were out due to injury.
Results:
BYU-Hawaii - New Caledonia: 103-56
Gerard Girier-Dufournier scored the first two points of the game but the hawaians were just to well prepared for the caledonian team. The home team reach half-time on a 45-30 lead. A 22-5 run to start the second half really broke the game and NC was unable to come-back. New Caledonia was dominated on the boards (37 to 48rbs) against some players who were 205-cm tall.

Chaminade - New Caledonia: 98-68
Another tough game against a taller team featuring a 213-cm serbian center. The caledonian held on during the first 5 minutes (9-9) but a 16-2 run gave a large lead to the host team, Chaminade reached half-time on a 61-33 score. A good game from Fabrice Chaliot and youngster Tony Kolokimoana while Benoit Weber was disapointing on the offensive end (2pts 1/7FG). Jean-Jacques Taufana didn't play this game due to injury.
