The Perth Lynx are pleased to announce that Antonia Edmondson (181-G-87) has re-signed for the 2017/18 WNBL season. Antonia Edmondson enjoyed an outstanding 2016/17 season, starting all 27 games for the Lynx while averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. 'I can't wait for the season to start,' said the New Zealand Tall Fern. 'Everyone understands the expectations now.' The 29-year old returns to the Lynx on the back of one of the best seasons of her career, filled with highlights such as her unbelievable 22-point burst in a 4:44 period against the Adelaide Lightning. The New Zealand native has adopted WA as a second-home, with her new deal extending her stay in Perth into a sixth season, during which time she has played 122 games for the Perth Lynx. 'I've been here for five years now, so WA definitely feels like home now.' Antonia Edmondson has played a total of 211 games WNBL games since entering the league in 2007/08. Antonia Edmondson joins returning Lynx teammate Sami Whitcomb on the 2017/18 roster. 'We're going to play a really exciting, fun, up-tempo style of basketball.' 'That's Andy (Stewart)'s style, that suits Sami, it suits me as well.' The club is set to make more player announcements soon.

However, as Kereama predicted, the Sharks provided a lot more bite in the second encounter on Sunbury's home court on Saturday - the Jets taken to the wire before...   [read more]

Stockill and Jets on verge of Big V Championship win - 28 days ago
Defending champions Sunbury Jets, featuring Tall Fern Josephine Stockill(190-PF, college: Colgate) and coached by former New Zealand national coach Kennedy Kereama, are one win away from claiming the Big V State Championship after dismantling Southern Peninsula Sharks 85-50 on Saturday. What makes the win even more impressive is the fact that the Sharks had home advantage therefore Sunbury will have games two and three (unlikely to be needed) on their home court next weekend to wrap up t...   [read more]

Micaela Cocks selected the top New Zealander playing abroad in last week's games - 29 days ago
We bring you last week's top performances from New Zealanders who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international guard Micaela Cocks (174-86). She could not help Flames (16-2) in their last game. Despite Cocks' very good performance the first-placed Flames (16-2) lost 78-90 on the road to the much lower-ranked (#14) Brisbane Spartans in the QBL group.    [read more]
