The Mike Pero Nelson Giants yesterday announced the re-signing of Australian point guard Kyle Adnam (186-G-93) for the 2018 season.

After spending four seasons as a development player in the Australian NBL (Adelaide 36ers 2013-14, Wollongong Hawks 2014-15, Melbourne United 2015-17), and three seasons in the SEABL with the Kilsyth Cobras (2014-16), Adnam ventured to New Zealand in March 2017 for his first professional gig.

Adnam appeared in 11 games for the Giants in 2017, averaging 16.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He struggled with a toe complaint throughout the season and missed time in May while on tour with Melbourne United in China. He scored 20+ points four times for Nelson, including a season-high 26 points against Taranaki on 16 April. The Giants missed the finals in 2017 with a 4-14 record.

Following his stint with the Giants, Adnam returned to Melbourne United on a full-time contract. In Melbourne's second game of the 2017-18 season, Adnam scored a career-high 23 points with six three-pointers in a 99-79 win over the Adelaide 36ers. In 11 games for United, he is currently averaging 6.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

The 2018 New Zealand NBL season is scheduled to tip off on 26 April with finals scheduled for the first weekend in August.

Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 6 in the NBL took place in Hobart.
