Orlando
Coleman
ORLANDO COLEMAN

American Orlando Coleman (196-F-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for Southland S. and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 26-year old forward had a double-double of 25 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team beat Canterbury (#5, 8-9) 88-79. Southland S. maintains the 3rd position in New Zealand NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Southland S. will need more victories to improve their 12-4 record. In the team's last game Coleman had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Southland S., through which he has constantly improved. Texas Southern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Coleman is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.6rpg) and averages solid 57.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old American forward Marcel Jones (203-F-85) of SC Rangers. Jones impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as SC Rangers lost that game 68-92 to the higher-ranked Taylor Hawks (#4, 10-6). SC Rangers are still at the very bottom. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories SC Rangers managed to get this year. Jones is one of the most experienced players at SC Rangers and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.4ppg (#3). He also registered 10.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Xavier Smith (206-C) of Taranaki MA (#6). Smith scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Despite Smith's great performance Taranaki MA lost 85-97 to slightly lower-ranked SC Rangers (#8, 3-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Taranaki MA can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Smith he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Smith has a very solid season. In 13 games in New Zealand he scored 13.5ppg. He also has 6.7rpg, 1.7bpg and FGP: 53.2%.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
