DAISHON KNIGHT

Akademik Bultex 99 Plovdiv (NBL) landed 27-year old American guard Daishon Knight (185-86kg-91, college: Illinois State). He played in the summer at Manawatu Jets in New Zealand NBL league. Knight managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 18 NBL games he averaged impressive 28.9ppg, 5.9rpg, 4.8apg and 1.2spg. It was a very successful season in his career as he was selected to Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand NBL 1st Team, All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week.
Part of last season Knight spent at Qatar Sports Club (D1) in league where in 10 games he had very remarkable stats: 19.0ppg, 6.5rpg, 6.5apg and 1.0spg. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. Knight also played for Bashkimi (SuperLeague) in league. In 8 games he recorded 10.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.1apg and 1.1spg.
Knight played in the final of MVC Tournament in 2015.
He has played previously professionally in Lithuania (Siauliai) and Turkey (Final Genclik).
Knight attended Illinois State until 2015 and it will be his fourth season in pro basketball.

He had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Jets (#8, 1-5) with 27-point margin 134-107. Hawks is placed at 2nd position in New Zealand league. Here is the last round review presented by ESL. The most exciting game of round 6 in the NBL took place in Hobart. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Giants (3-5) to sixth ranked Huskies (3-4) 93-91 in the game for the fifth place. Huskies made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game.
